Chelsea Mid-Season Review
Manager DRock provides insights to Chelsea’s season so far..
The Take Over
Ever since the huge take over from the U.S Billionaire, Todd Boehly, the club has been on a declined. Not much excitement from the fans perspective. The owner Todd has recently spoke with the media about his transfer policy as well as the “hiring then firing” method that used to be utilised in the club for over a decade. Todd, then went all over the globe to find the perfect manager to take over such a prestige football club filled with successful stories, and he spotted Drock96 who just been announced “Manager of the year” for Buriram United FC. Todd decided for a change and paid Drock’s release clause, making him the highest paid manager in England!

Performance summary
First half of the season, it didn’t go too well for the club. Sitting 4th from the bottom with only 2 wins and 6 defeats in 11 games. Supporters were not happy with how the team play, no energy at all during the game. The press were asking question week in week out whether when the result will change any time soon. Drock with a humble respond saying “Please be patience with us. With the current squad we have we are nowhere strong enough to be able to compete for top 4 this season. If you look at the likes of Celta Vigo, Dundee United, they have been in this position far way more than us. If you look at how many trophies they have in their collection… it’s COUNTLESS! If you give us one or two more years I promise you we’ll be able to compete for the titles again. But for now, we’ll go game by game. We’ll do our best, and players giving their all. The outcome is a learning curve. Thank you for understanding” then heads off to Cobham training ground

Marquee signings
One of the most impacted signing that Chelsea manager, Drock96, has signed this season was Faucundo Buonanotte. The silky 19 years old, born in Pérez, Argentina has made an instant impact at the club. Even though the numbers weren’t great, but his ability to drive the ball forward and creating chances for attackers were superb. Earlier this month, the fans spotted Facundo in a private interview with one of the BBC journalist, with the journalist asking

Journalist : “What are you hoping to achieve this season?”
Facundo : quoted “Well, I will do whatever it takes to help the team to glory. I don’t mind if the manager puts me in Center forward role, wingbacks, or even Center-mid. I’m capable of playing in any positions that is needed, as long as I’m on the pitch every game”
Journalist : “Are you happy with your performance over the past few months?”
Facundo : “There are some games that I felt it wasn’t my best performance, some area of my game that needs improvement such as Free-kick, crosses, finishing.” I will continue to train harder and harder, and that’s the fact!”
Journalist : “Thank you for your time Facundo, we wish you the very best of luck in the upcoming games”

Future plan for the club
As we move into the second quarter of the season, we must admit that performances weren’t good enough and changes are required to keep the club of this stature running towards the right direction. Whether it would be the tactics, transfer policy and even some of the staffs/training coach, who doesn’t follow the instruction too well, needed to be assessed. Because without change, there is no growth. Hopefully, Drock96 and his crew can turn things around sooner than later.
