Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of [Service Name] (“the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and to comply with all applicable laws of the United Kingdom.


1. Prohibited Content

1.1 General Prohibition

You must not post, upload, share, or transmit anything that is illegal under the laws of any part of the United Kingdom.
You must not use the Service to facilitate or commit any offence under UK law.

1.2 Specific Categories of Prohibited Content

Without limitation, the following types of content are prohibited:

a. Illegal Content as defined in the Online Safety Act 2023, including:

  • Terrorism content (Schedule 5)
  • Child sexual exploitation and abuse content (Schedule 6)
  • Content amounting to an offence under Schedule 7

b. Pornographic Content produced primarily for sexual arousal

c. Self-Harm and Suicide Content, including any content that encourages, promotes, or provides instructions for:

  • Suicide
  • Deliberate self-injury
  • Eating disorders or related behaviours

d. Abusive or Hateful Content, including content that targets or incites hatred or violence based on:

  • Race
  • Religion
  • Sex or sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment

e. Violent Content, including any content that:

  • Depicts real or realistic serious violence or injury to a person or animal
  • Depicts such acts in graphic detail
  • Depicts serious violence or injury to fictional creatures in a realistic and graphic manner

f. Dangerous Challenges or Stunts, including content that encourages, promotes, or provides instructions for challenges or acts likely to cause serious harm to participants or others

g. Physically Harmful Substances, including any encouragement or instruction to ingest, inject, inhale, or self-administer substances that are harmful


2. Protecting Users from Illegal Content

We may, at our discretion:

  • Take down or restrict access to any content you upload or share; and/or
  • Suspend or permanently ban you from the Service

if we consider this reasonable to protect you, other users, the Service, or ourselves.

If we are alerted to the presence of illegal content or become aware of it in any other way, we will swiftly remove such content.

2.1 Swift Removal Procedures

To minimise exposure to illegal content within the scope of the Online Safety Act 2023, we will:

  • Provide an accessible and easy-to-use reporting function for all users
  • Swiftly remove:
    • Terrorism content (Schedule 5)
    • Child sexual exploitation or abuse content (Schedule 6)
    • Content amounting to an offence under Schedule 7

3. Protecting Children

We protect children by:

a. Requiring age verification at registration (no one under 18 may use the Service);
b. Prohibiting the publication of prohibited content; and
c. Swiftly removing any such content upon report or discovery.


4. Private Messages and Investigations

4.1 User Privacy

We respect the confidentiality of users’ private messages and direct communications. These are not proactively monitored or accessed.

4.2 Access Upon Report

In compliance with the Online Safety Act 2023, we reserve the right to review and access private messages in the following circumstances:

a. A report or complaint is made suggesting that a private message may contain:

  • Illegal content (including that defined in Schedules 5–7 of the Act), or
  • Content breaching these Terms; and
    b. Such review is necessary and proportionate to investigate the report.

Access will be strictly limited to authorised staff for the purpose of:

  • Investigating reported offences or safety threats;
  • Complying with lawful requests from UK law enforcement; or
  • Protecting users and the public from harm.

All reviews will comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Online Safety Act 2023.
We do not otherwise monitor, access, or use private messages.


5. Proactive Technology

We do not use proactive technology to detect illegal content, except:

  • Where required by law; or
  • Where a report or complaint necessitates targeted review.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event shall we be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from or in connection with the Service or your use of it.

We reserve the right to suspend or ban your account, or remove your content, for any reason.


7. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.


8. Complaints and Reporting

8.1 Reporting Content

You may report content directly by:

  • Clicking the “Report” or flag icon next to a comment or post; or
  • Contacting an administrator via [Insert contact method].

8.2 Complaints and Appeals

You may submit a complaint or request an appeal by contacting an administrator.

8.3 User Right to Bring a Claim

This clause applies only to users within the United Kingdom.

Under the Online Safety Act 2023, you may bring a claim for breach of contract if:
a. Content you upload or share is taken down or restricted in breach of these Terms; or
b. You are suspended or banned in breach of these Terms.

This right does not apply to:

  • Emails, SMS or MMS messages;
  • One-to-one live aural communications;
  • Comments, reviews, or replies to such comments; or
  • User-identifying content (e.g. username, profile photo).

Whether a contract exists between you and us, and whether any breach has occurred, will be determined by a court under UK law.

This clause is subject to Section 6 (Limitation of Liability) and Section 7 (Jurisdiction and Governing Law).
